The meaning of food safety has three levels:
The first layer, food quantity security: refers to a country or region that can produce the dietary materials needed for the basic survival of its own people, and the people can buy and afford the basic food needed for survival and life.
The second layer, food quality and safety: refers to the food provided to meet and guarantee the basic health needs in terms of nutrition and hygiene. Food quality and safety involves such issues as whether food is pollution-free, toxic, whether additives are illegal and exceed the standard, and whether labels are standardized. Measures should be taken to prevent food pollution and the invasion of major harmful factors before food is infringed.
The third layer, food sustainable safety: refers to the requirement that the production and purchase of food should pay attention to the good protection of the ecological environment and the sustainable utilization of resources from the perspective of development.
