Jianshe Road Primary School is located at No.2 Xincheng Street, Taiyuan City. She was founded in 1938, formerly known as Taiyuan No.1 Demonstration Primary School.
With the development of the times, the school has been renamed as the Fifth Xinmin Primary School in Taiyuan, the Fifth Provincial Primary School, the Seventh Complete Primary School in Taiyuan and Xincheng Street Primary School in Chengnan District.
Until February, 1965, the government built a new teaching building on the east side of the playground of Xincheng Street Primary School because of the surge in the number of students and the heavy burden on the school. Nearly half of the teachers and students of the original Xincheng Street Primary School entered the new school, and Jianshe Road Primary School came into being. In this way, the two schools developed until the beginning of 2004.
